A BILL to amend and reenact article one-a, chapter twenty of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section nine, relating to continuing the public land corporation.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article one-a, chapter twenty of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section nine, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1A. REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT AND PROCEDURES.
§20-1A-9. Continuing the public land corporation.

Pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of this code, the public land corporation shall continue to exist until the first day of July, two thousand five, unless sooner terminated, continued or reestablished by act of the Legislature.

(NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the public land corporation until July 1, 2005, pursuant to the West Virginia sunset law. This bill is recommended by the joint committee on government operations for passage during the 2002 regular session of the Legislature.
